Funny Little Things Emotions can take over you...it can be through friendships or love...the what ifs...hmm..well I hope it works out for you..sometimes things are better left unsaid.  the grass isn't always greener on the other side...I do understand your delimma though..[StarsDreamToo] 2008-08-25 13:28:45

Funny Little Things That had to have been really tough. I have faced some of the same crossroads myself. Some of those things I have entertained and found that it was nothing like what I fantasized about and that it wasn't worth risking my marriage over. When you are in love with someone, nothing else matters. Things don't make sense. We do crazy things. I just hope that you regain composure and truly realize what a special relationship that you do have. Wink[SteeleBlack] 2008-08-13 20:59:09

Funny Little Things I think ultimately history will always put you with the girl you are with now. You've shared something together, you know her very well taking into consideration you've thought of marriage. It's a safe decision. With the girl you had fallen head over heels with, it's hard to trust whether she will have been worth it had you broken up. It'd have been an overall risk to make. You could have sacrificed a three year relationship over one that might have lasted three months. You just never know. Sometimes we want so badly that we don't consider what might happen after we get it. And sometimes what we wanted and received isn't what we really wanted in the first place, because they turn out to be completely different than fantasized about.
I think we should never find out how things are, especially if they're from the past. Some things are never really meant to be. Some things happen for a reason. But ultimately we have to determine that maybe what's best for us is really what we already have.

Funny Little Things

Well said: "That's the way emotions work.  There is no logic behind them.  They just are.  And they always will be."

Now the question is whether your emotions surrounding a chance encounter with the past will affect your actions or not. The question also is whether your emotions reflect a reality or a fantasy or mixture of the two. There were reasons why your emotions did not carry you and your former friend through to a different path than the one you took. Has something in the equation changed significantly?

We can love many people, some more compatibly than others. Unless a relationship ends because love has already ceased, love doesn't cease because a relationship ends. We learn to live with unrequited love. The question is whether you truly love your current girlfriend enough to consider marriage. The question is also if you are ready for the commitment of marriage. Since you view marriage as being several years in the future, my guess is that you're jumping the gun in thinking about it with your current girlfriend. My thought is that when it's right, you'll know.

Whatever you do, I hope that whenever you decide that marriage is for you, that you will commit yourself to it wholeheartedly. Most people who get divorced, knew what their ex was like before they got married but married them anyway because they liked the idea of being married or thought they could change the other person. We can only change ourselves and only if we want to and are willing to do what it takes to change in the direction that's right for us. If your doubts are about whether you're ready for commitment, wait. If your doubts are about whether you can spend the rest of your life with your current girlfriend, you need to be more open with her and get to know her and yourself better. You need to work at filling in the gaps in how you both operate and how you both feel. You need to figure out whether you both are willing to do what it takes to achieve balance and if you can achieve balance without denying yourself the freedom to be who you really are. You and she also need to determine if what draws you together is healthy or unhealthy. If it's unhealthy, it will only become more so over time.

Are you ready to forsake all others? Are you ready to put the woman you marry first? Are you able to feel happier and a better person because your commitment is to someone worthy of the best you have to offer?

There was some reason why your former girlfriend rushed off after only 2 minutes. It had to do with her priorities or with her comfort level in seeing you again. Perhaps she even feared rejection and left quickly to avoid it. Or perhaps she knew she wanted you to be part of her past, not her present. If you need to answer some of these questions, that's up to you. But be careful about throwing away a good relationship on a past one which lacked balance and of which you remember the good, but have blocked out the bad from your memory.

You need to clarify what you want in order to know whether you can get what you want with any woman you've already met. Good luck.

WTF Honestly I think the UN's a piece of sh*t.  It's just like it only makes international red tape.  I honestly think someone should get rid of the damn thing.

Yesterday I saw gas was $3.71 and I got excited saying "Wow, gas is sooo cheap today."  Mind you, this time last year gas was $2.80/gal and I was threatening to break into the oil fields near my house if the gas reached $3.00.  Man, what a difference a year makes.

A Midwinter's Night very haunting... i like[frootloopedcheerio] 2008-07-30 20:12:09

A Midwinter's Night By the way your subject matter is gory, but at least you're not grinding up the victims and selling them in meat pies.[NightListener] 2008-07-30 19:17:34

A Midwinter's Night

The basic flow of events and descriptions works as the poem builds. The use of repetition and refrain adds power. The use of rhymed couplets creates structure. In that way you've built a successful first draft. What needs further work is the rhythm--at this point you have not yet nailed the consistency of the rhythm. Free form doesn't apply because there's already structure imposed by the couplets and a main rhythm that predominates, which makes the places where the rhythm gets lost stand out noticeably. Also the word "over" in the 11th stanza comes where one would expect the second part of a rhymed couplet and therefore doesn't fit with the line above. If you like this poem enough, let's see a second draft. I think it's good enough that it's worth another draft. Good luck.

Just For My Entertainment You don't mention your source, but I bet there's a good story behind your relationship with this poem. I Googled one of the lines familiar to me and found many sites with this poem, but almost every version differed somewhat from the others, and each version was accompanied by someone telling of how the poem came into his consciousness--almost like people telling of how they lost their virginity--fascinating and unique, personal and memorable. I enjoyed your presentation of this poem, but even more I'm enjoying the prospect of reading many of the personal stories this poem leads to on the internet.[NightListener] 2008-07-29 18:47:58

Conundrum The first time I heard the word Conundrum was in "The Ring."Neutral Stupid, stupid movie. lol.

A person who feels they are superior than all others will only resort to calling the poor as "excuse givers." Excuses are meanings behind every action, every choice. Why would they whine about it being negative when it is neither? Some people are very one sided. They generalise and have no proof behind their topics. It's just opinion after opinion, you know? I would rather read something like this, that gives you something to think about. Not a person who writes the same thing in every entry lol.

I use to think that Satan couldn't possibly be so bad if he was punishing the bad people. Then the whole "no he is tempting you to do bad things" came up, and I keep thinking, "No, we have the freedom to do what we would like, and the freedom to choose between good and bad. Why blame temptation on him?" I don't know. It's constant mind aching question after question. I understand your argument, and it is very good, but I am not a huge believer of Satan himself. I happen to think that Hell is a state of being after death, where we are distanced from God. When we are not with God, we don't feel that happiness. When we are with God, we experience happiness, and that is Heaven. Yeah, not a complex way to look at it, but I happen to like keeping things simple.

Conundrum I completely agree. I accept everyone to express how they feel in their diary, but I do not believe in insulting others on their diary when they are expressing their heartfelt emotions. I think I may know who you are talking about also. Anyway, like you said...we are all humans, we all have feelings and while some of us have trouble getting up and going after things, it doesn't make us less of a person.

Conundrum These whole points are based on the idea that god even exists
I think there is too much math and unexplained science with similarities (such as Phi) for there NOT to be something else, but i agree that these IDEAS are similar, but i just believe they are ideas. I believe there IS/ARE (a) God(s), i just dont believe IN them, i am not religous. Make sense? Oh well. But You make an interesting point, clearly very observant :)

Conundrum

Having as a child my beliefs shaped by my parents according to the precepts of Reform Judaism, I was never taught about The Devil or Hell in the context of how it is viewed by Christianity. God was everywhere; God saw and knew everything; we were accountable to God for our thoughts and our deeds. When I first developed some modesty, I was kind of uncomfortable about God watching me wipe my behind, and we won't even get into God and masturbation.

I was 7 when on the 4th of July a neighbor girl who was a year or 2 older and who attended Catholic school joined us as we burned those charcoal "snakes" sold as fireworks on the sidewalk in front of our second apartment. It was in that context that she instructed my brother and me about the Devil and Hell and about bad people burning for Eternity. Of course this bothered us and we asked our parents to verify this part of the story and explain their omission in our religious training.

My parents explained that Jews and Catholics had different ideas about how God ruled the world and that since we were Jews, we could rest assured that the Devil did not exist nor did Hell. This was a great relief since I still had some trepidations about the Bogey Man and I was still terrified of the image of the Wolf on the cover of my father's 78 rpm album of Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf."

Somehow I got Peter's theme and the Wolf's theme confused and every time I'd hear Peter's theme, I'd leave the room and cover my head with a pillow. The day I grew up enough to overcome my fear was the day in second grade when the music teacher came to our room and played Peter's theme on the piano. I thought about running out screaming, but thought better of it and sat there hoping it would be over soon.

I was introduced at age 3 or 4 to the idea of the Bogey Man by the girl whose grandmother owned the old Victorian boarding house next door to our first apartment. Ironically that girl who was my age was also Christian. My mother had taken me there one evening to see their Christmas tree all lit up in rainbow colors and blinking since as first generation American Jews, my parents would not have a Christmas tree in their home since they were already offending my father's family (his parents and siblings) enough by not keeping Kosher. I'm sure my father's family who maintained Orthodox Jewish traditions were certain we were out of favor with God for eating bacon in our home, which is why they would never come over for meals, except for and aunt who was also practicing Reform Judaism and an Uncle who, although Orthodox and keeping Kosher in his home, liked to celebrate the time as a kid when he skipped school and bought himself a ham sandwich. He was at our apartment every Sunday morning for breakfast. But even he never seemed to fear God over that issue.

Sure we had read about the Serpent in the Garden of Eden, but since he didn't bite Adam and Eve and didn't try to strangle them and since all he did was get them to eat an apple, I didn't have much fear of him later as I would have after having learned about rattle snales, copperheads, and pythons. And let's not even talk about spiders! Ew!! Outside, they have as much right as I do. Inside, if I can catch them it's the royal flush. Not in MY house!

I was taught God was a loving God, but I'm still trying to figure out that Abraham and Isaac stuff. Once on the news there was a story about a father who killed his child. I can remember riding in the back seat of the car while my father was driving and wondering if I was safe, although I had always felt safe with my father until the idea that a father or mother could kill their child entered my mind. For a while I tried to sleep with one eye open. I also wondered if I were in danger of being taken into the woods and abandoned. Sure God was everywhere, but those angels in Hansel and Gretel and the Sandman were almost as scary as the witch. Come to think of it I did worry about the Sandman creeping around my room at night, although I never feared the Tooth Fairy.

And then even though we were Jewish, my mother always took us downtown to have our picture taken on Santa's lap for a dollar and then get a grab bag gift from the department store. Santa seemed to be sort of like God in that he knew when we've been good or bad--so be good for goodness sakes! I think for a long time I think I thought the worst thing that could happen to me was not to get anything for Christmas. I didn't really grasp what Chanukah was until at age 6 we joined a Temple so that I could attend religious school which is where I learned about the Serpent in the Garden of Eden from our Bible Comic Book.

What did we need the Devil for? We had the God of the Old Testament who seemed as irrational as my father when he was angry, but who like my father usually did the right thing. I never thought of God and the Devil as being the same because I never really thought of the Devil as being real like God and Santa and the Bogey Man and the Wolf.

When I was seven I discovered a copy of a 1945 Time Magazine in the closet while I was broiling hotdogs for my brother and myself while my mother was with the neighbor downstairs. As I discovered the photos of the liberation of the concentration camps with the living skeletons and the piles of charred remains from the furnaces in big stacks in a courtyard of the camp, the hotdogs burned and by the time the smoke from the kitchen jarred my memory, I opened the broiler to find charred remaines of hotdogs bathing in puddles of grease. I couldn't eat hotdogs for months afterwards. Oh, the horrors! the horrors! There were terrible things in this world that scared the hell out of me. If there was a Devil, his name was Hitler whose Svengali powers over the crowds of heiling Germans was far more frightening to me that some snake wrapped around an apple tree.

Conundrum Satan, in the original text of the bible, means advesary. God has been an advesary to many nations and still is, so you could give the title Satan to God. Though, the entity Satan is seperate from God. But, God uses Satan.

If Satan wants to destroy a person, he has to get permission from God first. He is a servant of God; bound to God's will. He only does what is commanded. [SteeleBlack]

I AM laughing! You also got me thinking--or at least thinking I should be thinking.

As for the little boy who asked his dad "What is Politics?", he'll probably have his own show on cable someday. He may even hold public office--at least until he becomes embroiled in a scandal of his own. I'd love to be a fly on the wall (pardon the expression) when dad tells his son the facts of life with regard to sex.

Death Penalty For one thing, maybe child rape doesn't occur as frequently  in my counrty s it does in yours. I feel perfectly comfortable with the imaginary rapist who brutally raped my imaginary 4 yr old rotting away in an imaginary federal prison for life being beaten up and raped by men twice his size and him knowing that even if he could get out he would have nothing 'coz I would have sued him out the ass for pain and suffering money....is that really how you describe prison? A cell where you get 3 free meals a day?[XxXLeavesXxX] 2008-06-28 18:48:14

i agree but disagree at the same time...

Yes If someone ever EVER touched my child I would kill them..

but life in prison for it? i think that would also be good because a child molester in prison? the person's gonna die anyway because prisoner's dont play that

Death Penalty Joseph_D!

Thanks for your note in my diary. I do understand where you're coming from as you will see if you read page 925 in my diary entitled "My Neck Is Red." I appreciate your insights. I'm also amused that in my judgment your "Good News" topped my "Good News."

Back in "the old days" (even before my time) people used to pack picnic lunches and hitch up the wagon to attend hangings which were major community social events prior to radio, television, and the internet. I've been craving bratwurst a lot lately. Every time I seen an ad for Johnsonville or Eckridge I start to think it would be a good day for a hanging. "No, not me! I meant some other guy!" Just pass the mustard and the sauerkraut please.[NightListener]
2008-06-28 11:09:51

Ashamed I have to say that I disagree. Life in prison is punishment enough, but to kill someone with a torture instrument that was used in nazi concentration camps is deifinetly pushing it. Killing the person who  raped a child wont make the victim's suffering any less severe, so why bother bring murder into a case that was heinous enough already?
[XxXLeavesXxX]
2008-06-28 01:23:52

Death Penalty

I met someone who was released from prison after serving 13 years of a life sentence on conviction of a murder she did not commit. In fact, she was the person who called the police to report the murder after she discovered the proprietor of a business shot to death. She had been represented by an appointed attorney who had not even practiced criminal law until that point. Financial resources were limited and the free attorney was not afforded the means to fund a thorough investigation. After 13 years a top attorney who worked with a group investigating wrongful sentencing proved that the police and prosecution had purposely withheld evidence that proved her innocence from the defense because for political expediation they needed to convict someone--apparently anyone because the case was playing out as high profile in the media.

DNA evidence when it is available does help to prove a case, but in absence of DNA evidence--the child may have been bathed afterwards by a parent in denial or worse--it gets harder to prove. Research (videotaped interviews included) have revealed how by asking a child old enough to be interviewed leading or otherwise inappropriate questions, their desire to please an adult interviewer can contaminate their responses. When a doll is used, an adult who asks about a particular part of the doll can cause a child to focus on that part whether it is relevant to the truth or not. Also in situations where one parent is accused of abuse, the other may poison the well by creating a new reality in the mind of the child by saying things about the accused parent to influence the child's sense of reality. Such parental influence occurs frequently in custody battles.

You can make a credible argument that the death penalty may result in justice for heinous crimes, but the trouble with laws is that they remain general at so many levels and fail to take the what if's into account. Because juries are given limited choices, they have a tough time saying--there's enough evidence to make us want to keep this person off the street but not enough evidence to condemn him to death. Juries acting out of fear may lack the courage to admit there is not enough evidence at times.

In recent years some college classes in forensics have sometimes taken on projects to reinvestigate crimes that have resulted in captial murder convictions. In Illinois the results of research by students revealed such a high level of wrongful convictions that the death penalty was put on hold. The chance of innocent people being executed after being convicted is certainly cause for concern. The death penalty is absolutely final--which is your point--and cannot be reversed. The law that would sentence to death someone who definitely committed a crime could also sentence to death someone who did not because the investigation or the trial procedures were seriously flawed--unintentionally or not. To support a death penalty without reservation places, in my estimation, too much trust in police, prosecutors, judges, legislators, expert witnesses, eye-witnesses, the media, and politicians in general.

So did OJ kill Nichole Simpson and Danny Goldman? The trial system said no. The system in which you put your trust has limits when it comes to determining guilt or innocence.

Also new brain research (Dr. Daniel Amen, for one) is showing that some people are predisposed to certain behaviors that can lead to murder. Brain damage from sports injuries, falls, and other accidents as well as birth defects which may result in a significant level of retardation, emotional imbalance, and an inability to control impulsive behavior--depending on which part of the brain is damaged--is overlooked or underestimated. SPECT scan images can reveal damaged parts of a brain and ability of researchers to wire the brain to determine which areas of the brain support which behavioral functions had introduced a lot of new, useful information into the equation in recent years. The laws and practices of the justice system have not caught up yet with this recent and important information.

If you've ever looked at laws governing child support, you may find that many legislators often fail to do the math because the formulas sometimes don't translate into amounts meeting children's health and welfare needs. As we learned with the vote in Congress to go to war in Iraq, most of those who voted didn't have time to read the entire bill. This is often the case in how laws are passed. Instead of solving practical problems, the legislature is often arguing those hot button issues that will never be solved satisfactorily nor will affect the vast majority of the citizens dependent on legislators to help them preserve life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

The good news is that the Supreme Court says it's all right for people to carry guns. Who even needs laws when vigilante justice (as well as crime) is just an arm's length away? Whatever happened to tar and feathers anyway?Progress is slow in human endeavors, but we don't read very much about lynchings anymore--although occasionally we learn that they do still happen. Civilization is one more thing sorely limited by our imaginations.

I'm not actually disagreeing with you. I'm just trying to point out that there are other ways to look at the issue that should not be overlooked when considering justice. Thanks.

Death Penalty

You are so cool.

One thing that I would like to add, make sure that their necks don't break right off and then give the victim a baseball bat and let them play piñata (or however it is spelled.) This would be a further deterrent and would also be the beginning of the victim’s therapy.

Death Penalty so, you think that it's just judgement for a person to lose their only life because they've taken someone's 'purity' (i dk what else to call it....honor? dignity?? idk)? It does seem a little bit.....unproportional in some ways.[InvisibleGirl18] 2008-06-27 23:23:03

Death Penalty

you do have some very interesting and valid points. here's a question for you though. If a person should get the death penalty for raping a child, then should not also a person get the death penalty for raping anyone? Why is a child more important than an adult? why save a child from the crime if more than likely they will suffer it later in life and nothing be done about it?

just some random thoughts that i'm very interested in hearing your opinion about.

Death Penalty I don't know what I think about the death penalty. I am kind of on the fence about it. I don't think that quickly killing anyone will decrease the crime. Most of those criminals, have nothing to lose; that's why they rape and murder. A lot of them already have a death sentence. A lot of them think that they're doing society a favor.

I don't know. I do think that mass murderers should be put to death because it is something they will never get over. Just like some people are addicted to booze and drugs, the serial killer is addicted to killing. They are bad for society and definately need to die, instead of taking up precious jail space.

Child molesters are the same. Once a child molester, always a child molester. But to kill them? I just don't know. I guess they wreck the lives of children, they should experience the same wrecking of their lives, which would mean the death penalty.

Oh well...great topic. [SteeleBlack]

It's sad how to suspect(s) in a case has more rights than the victim(s).Evil or Very Mad I don't know if you believe in God. But I believe that God will have the final say when it comes to delivering the proper justice for the victims and punishment to the people who caused the victims harm.

Ashamed

I've read your entry & all of the comments it has received.
I agree the most with the comment below me.
I have a 11 year old son... though I don't think the death penalty is the answer I do know that if anyone would ever so much as touch my child I would administer my own form of capital punishment.
And even though there are things in this country that I don't agree with I have never been ashamed to be an American!
Take care.

Ashamed although it is sickening I'm split on the "for/against the death penalty", yes, people who sexually abuse children or anyone deserve to die an excrutiatingly painfull death but I also don't think that it's anyones place to step in regardless of the situtation (i.e. murder, rape, etc) and kill the offender, because what morals are those? I think the court systems are extremely messed up and need to be dealt with because you have to swear on a bible that you will tell the truth and it is a sin to kill someone... yet the person carrying out the death sentence is a murderer as well but since he's doing it for the law there's nothing wrong with that. And I just dont think it's okay. But I do know that if a friend or a family member were sexually abused I'd want that f***er dead.[ungoodyshus] 2008-06-26 21:37:05

Ashamed No, I simply do not agree.
So you're saying that a person who does one act cannot have a brighter side to them? These people have deep issues that need to be dealt with, and you're just saying, "f*** it. Kill them." instead of helping the situation.
People can redeem themselves. They make mistakes. All of the time. I do understand where you're coming from. You can't just deny someone life for making a horrible mistake. Child rape is a terrible thing. Even rape in general. But there are ways to deal with it other than to ignore all possibilities and just kill them.[Forever Rejected]
2008-06-26 21:14:21

Ashamed

But isn't it true that there is a little bit of good in everyone?
If there is a reason for everything, isn't there a reason for that person's actions? I mean, we're talking about life and death. I'm not saying that this act should not be punished, I'm all for the punishment. There needs to be justice. I've known people who've killed and haven't gotten the death sentence. Shouldn't you be more worried about that?
I know every situation is different, but I believe that most people just need serious help. Wasn't it you who wrote those poems of a good man turned serial killer? Sure, the 'boogeyman' could have seemed like a horrible person to the press and the rest of the world, but he was once human.

Ashamed I also have been saying for years that child rapists should be put to death. And not able to linger in jail for years on appeals. Do these dumb asses not know that the child will live a life sentence after being raped? I remember as a child this subject came up and being a nosy kid I hung around listening to my uncles talking. They decided that if any of us kids ever suffered a rape they would just take the law into their own hands and stump hang the guy. Later in life I asked what that meant. They told me that they would soak a stump with diesel fuel and nail the guys penis to it with a big rusty nail and set it on fire. If he does manage to pull loose, shoot him in the other head. Sounds like a plan to me.    D-

True. But like I said, the only person who should deliver the punishment should be the kid's parents. Whether he lives (hard labor for life, of course) or dies should be left to the caretakers (usually parents) of that child, or to me, by default, because I am damn sure I would show this piece of sh*t a good time...I would set the bastard on fire and let him bleed to death for a friggin' year, I tell you that much.

Ashamed

I am sorry to disagree with death penalty for child rapists...that would be an easy way out.

I think the fairest punishment would be to let the child molester and the family of the kid together on the same room for a month. Parents should be granted pardon for whatever act they did, so they would be free to treat the guy in whatever way they see fit. Tools would also be given as requested (a saw, a hammer, whatever the family fancy).

If the rapist survive, death penalty or hard labor. If the rapist die, then it would save lots of money and a fat electrical bill (if your state uses the chair).

That would really bring peace to the family, as they would be free to punish the guy. I am sure their psychological wounds would heal faster that way.

Ashamed This is a crazy world. I cannot help it if something terrible happens to my own chldren. As you know, well if you did watch the news - it was not long ago here in Germany so many cases of children got raped and sexually abused. Two girls got kidnapped and locked in the cellar for months / years. I wish that sort of people get their death penalty - but even death is  not enough and is not fair for those who did that terrible thing. My hubby would say he prefer them to suffer as much as possible. In this case I ask myself as a good Christian - asking myself about forgiveness .... I am wondering still about it and I have no answer .... [Excomysteriez] 2008-06-25 13:52:58

Ashamed I agree.  We should enact the death penalty for rapists, child molesters, kidnappers, and serial killers/normal killers.  I don't understand how the USA(I'm also American) can sleep at night knowing they are letting sick freaks like this run the streets.  What the heck happened to justice for the victim.  Too many women who are raped won't report the rape because they know the guy will just get 25 years minimum and then get out.  He'll just continue raping other women or kids the rest of his life because he knows he won't get killed for it.  But for the US Supreme Court to say "We don't care about the rape of a child because the death penalty is 'cruel and unusual punishment'" is wrong!  Absolutley horrendous.  And Americans say that countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia who kill rapists and serial killers and kidnappers are babarians and uncivilzed.  If you want my opinion, it's America who is UNCIVILZED not Saudi Arabia.  Saudi Arabia has the right idea by killing sick freaks like this.  We should take a lesson from Saudi Arabia and enact our own justice. The Hell with the Supreme Court and the Constitution.  How about we go back to like it was in the 1800s where you could shoot any person who harmed your family and not get in trouble for it.  [wolfmuslimah] 2008-06-25 13:51:06

Ashamed I agree. And even when they do give u the death sentence most ppl die b4 actually receving the shot. Plust hey actually clean the the seringe and change the needle. How ridiculous? Ppl getting the death pnalty obviously dont need a clean needle and why in the first place does it matter if its clean? There about to die anyways.

Got Jokes? OMG I have lots!

A blonde is driving down the road, constantly swerving. The cops notice her wreckless behavior and pull her over. They ask her why she swerved and she replies "Well, I was driving and a tree popped out in front of me, so I swerved. And then another tree popped out in front of me, so I swerved again!.." She went on like this for about 5 minutes, and one of the police people said "M'am! Stop" and he goes and examenes her car. He comes back and says "M'am, it was just your air freshener."

An elderly couple goes and sees the doctor. Aparantly, they have a tough time remembering things. So the doctor tells them to start writing things down. That night the couple was watching movies when the man goes into the kitchen to get a glass of milk. The woman tell him "Get me a sundae! You better write that down!" The man says "I don't need to write it down, I can remember a sundae." The woman tells him "Put nuts an cherries on it!" The man says "Sundae with nuts and cherries. Got it" so he poures himself a glass of milk, and comes back into the living room with bacon and eggs for the woman. The woman studies the bacon and eggs and says "Where's my toast?"

I have a couple of entries with funny pictures, and they are hard to miss, asx they are titled things like "Really funny pictures!"

Friday the 13th Now does that mean you get his lot? The barren lot? I would take every bit of landscaping along. I would leave it as barren as it was before. My friend J, a single mother of 2, was buying a house bond for deed from a little old man. The place was a dump and we all got together and helped her fix it up. She has the greenest thumb of anyone I know and she had that yard looking awesome. Long story short, old man dies, paperwork not filed properly and his family took the house from J after they came by and saw how "storybook" she had it looking. She was so pissed she dug up every single flower she had planted, she even bagged up the mulch. There wasn't a thing they could do about it. I loved it, served them right. Good Luck! D-

hah. this is brilliant..really & truly. it is. you are extremely blunt in this entry & i like that b/c with the situations you come across. i totally agree with the "ana's" thing. i've seen queit a few of those entries on here...& i understand too how it is a horrible disorder, but i find it so naive that others would congradualte or encourage that behavior. you're right. they really are stupid. i could understand more if they really wanted help, but then again..some people just never grow up or learn to want things. better things. so just choose to be naive.

anyway, about your ex. total b!tch for treating you like that. i am sorry. but for the record, to know you are a good guy, and you take care of your daughter. thats just really good to know. at least your daughter will have 1 good role model. & why your ex lies to sound good"better"? its because she doesnt want you to realize or know that in the end shes paying for what she did. and shes suffering, unlike you who is actually holding on really well :)

Stupid People Thanks for your comment. I am also amazed at the many diaries on here obsessing over weight, not eating etc. Now, I am pretty obsessed with how I look and feel I need to drop some pounds and surely get depressed from time to time over it...but these girls who are choosing to starve themselves...its ridiculous. Stupid People Hi, I would love to hear about your experiences! Since moving here I can't get enough info on the subject of hauntings. I read everything I can find and watch the ghost hunters and all that jazz. And there is NO WAY I would bring a Ouija board even close to the house. I understand that it can open doors that are better left closed. There are some things that can come through that are evil. I don't feel that here with this phenomena and don't want any part of that.

On your entry, I agree with what you say here. However I have a unique problem with the weight. I was always super active and had the body to match. I was a cheerleader 77 through 81. All 4 years of high school. I played softball after that till I had a horrible car accident in 86. I was so smashed up they told me I would have problems later in life. Soon after getting back on my feet I found that I had some restrictions but all in all I was pretty active. Slowly over the years the arthritis has begun to take its toll and today I live in constant pain. Some days (rainy, or cold or both) I struggle just to get out of bed. As a result I have gained so much weight that I am depressed and ashamed. I don't eat like a sow or anything but the inactivity is my enemy. The doctors have told me I need back surgery, but there is no guarantee that I may be better and a chance that it may make it worse. And that doesn't fix my legs and shoulders, feet and ankles. All broke in the accident. If anyone can come up with a solution I am all ears.      Thanks! D-

Stupid People

I don't think someone can decide to become anorexic over night. I don't think people just stop eating all of a sudden. Its almost impossible to do that. I love reading how people "ruined" their fasts, or ask "ana" to help them as if ana were a person. I had a drinking problem before my pregnancy and I never asked Jack to help me.

My brother had to drop a few classes one semester because he was so addicted to world of warcraft...why spend that much damn money on college and not go?

I think the real problem is that people are too sensitive these days. I really believe that is it. They can't deal with their problems without therapy or medication. I know some people really need these things, but I think the majority are hypochondriacs. I am not saying I have never been on meds or been in therapy, I have...but not to tell every one about it. Not for sympathy. Not to be congratulated on getting help. I hate appraisal and sympathy. I really really do.

I know what you are saying. People need to grow the f*** up.

Stupid People

Hey -

Thanks for the GPA info, very helpful.

I know a lot of morons. My sister in law is the first that springs to mind. But that's another story.

I am in agreement with you regarding 'anas'. I won't deny that I have a f***ed up relationship with food and swing between gorging myself, and starving myself. It's deep rooted, from some traumatic stuff that happened to me during adolesence, and I just haven't had the balls to deal with it yet. That's MY problem, no one elses. And for the record, because of my behaviour towards food, I'm a little chunky. That's how it is.

But I, like you, get so tired of people begging 'ana' to make them thin. Being unrealistic and stupid, and making big deals out of nothing. If you watch their diaries, they tend to disappear after about 12 entries, 4 of those entries made on the first day they had the diary.

Anorexia's no joke, but I don't have it. Nor do most of the girls on here crapping on about weight loss. We're all liars, and you'll find a circle that lie to 'beat' each other. Whatever.

I have the same attitude as you towards study. If you can't turn up to class, why are you doing the course? What happens when you finish and get your job, and you have a bad day? Do you take the next day off? Think of it as elimination. You finished your degree. The losers did not. You're successful because you made good choices and formed the right attitude. The idiots still flipping burgers are doing that because they can't handle responsibility.

Sorry if I sound negative and arrogant, I guess it's my mood today!

In short - I liked your entry. haha.
